593 people are HIV-positive, including 312 girls, 213 boys, 39 men, 29 women and 2 children in Kasindi-Lubiriha, Basongora Group, Ruwenzori, Beni Territory.

The figures were released on Friday (December 27th) in a report of research conducted by Kasereka Vyambithe, a researcher living at the border crossing, which reveals that people aged 15 to 35 are the most affected by HIV/AIDS.

Kasereka Vyambithe calls on the population of the Kasindi-Lubiriha border crossing to voluntarily test themselves in order to adopt appropriate behaviour that can prevent the spread of this disease in the community.
