The ADF rebels raided the town of Mayimoya, a Bambuba-Kisiki grouping in the Beni-Mbau area of Beni territory, on Friday evening, 27 December. Mr. Mumber Balu, one of the residents is said to have burned alive in his house and several houses were set on fire.

This information was provided by local forces, who reported that the rebels had spun into the region at around 8 p.m. local time and brought several of the peaceful citizens' belongings to an unknown destination.

The drama unfolded after Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo's pastoral visit to Maimoya to sympathize with the civilian population of the square.
